5 Instagram Tips Every Artist Needs
2016, the year of social media. Instagram now has over 300 Million users. In this blog, we will give you 5 tips on improving your Instagram influence. Instagram is one of our personal favorite social media sites because we love visual art. So, let’s get into these tips.

Tip 1. Picture Quality

A picture says 1000 words. You want those 1000 words to be memorable. Professional pictures and cover art are a must. Thanks to new technology, we have a Canon right in our pockets via the HD on iPhones & Androids. We want our followers to take us seriously. High-quality content shows our followers we are serious, which then earns their respect.

Tip 2. Videos

People want to watch what you’re doing. What better way than to show off some video footage. Whether it’s you in the studio working on your next hit, behind the scenes of a music video, or a family outing; the fans want a glimpse of your life and your career.

Tip 3. Quantity

Not only is quality important, but the right quantity is important as well. We recommend about 5 posts a week. With that being said, it’s all about the right timing. Here are some times you can test out.

Tip 4. #Hashtagging

Effective hashtagging can bring likes, comments, and new followers to your page. We’ve noticed that we get the most reaction to our posts when we use between 10 to 15 quality hashtags. How do you decide if a hashtag is quality? Ask yourself these questions: Does it relate to my post? Are other people using these hashtags? If I create my own hashtag, can it be easily found?

Tip 5. Building Your Audience

With the combination of the first 4 tips, you’re on your way to gaining more followers and keeping them engaged. How else can you build your audience? Every fan you meet, you should be directing them to your social media. That’s one step closer to them becoming a loyal supporter. You can also follow people who follow artists similar to you. To keep your followers to following ratio higher, we recommend apps such as Crowdfireapp & Instrack. These apps will help you track your followers and give you a better understanding of who your audience is.
