A City In China controlled by Artificial Intelligence

Image
This 'Smart City' in China Is Controlled By An Artificial Intelligence The idea of smart cities – infrastructure interlinked by software – isn’t new, but it’s undeniably cool. Who wouldn’t want to live somewhere where programs use data and evidence, not intuition, to actively improve their day-to-day lives? Now imagine that an entire smart city actually exists, but it's even more advanced than you could possibly imagine, where infrastructural systems are altered on the fly by an artificial intelligence (AI). This may sound futuristic, but one such place can already be found in China. As reported back in October 2016, the government of the city of Hangzhou – home to over 9 million people – collaborated with Alibaba and Foxconn to build the “City Brain” project. The metropolis would be, from that moment forth, at least partly run by an AI that absorbed every last drop of data it could get its virtual hands on. Every single resident was tracked; their activity on socia...

Tucked away in Ohanze town near the commercial city of Aba in Abia state is Francis Emmanuel. He runs a company called EM Automobile. This enterprising young Nigerian is in the business of manufacturing automobiles. Francis Emmanuel has built a brand of car called the EM Emulate. According to him, the EM Emulate is manufactured using Mate motorcycle engine together with other locally fabricated materials. Thus far, and largely due to inadequate funding, he has built only one unit of the EM Emulate. However, here is the interesting part: a unit of the EM Emulate is built with only Eighty thousand naira (N80, 000) ! Indeed, such industry and determination ought to be encouraged. With some encouragement and support, such project have the potential to come out much better. See more photos:

He tried several means to bring the bag down, even lying on the floor but it stayed put. When nothing worked, he decided to surrender to the police. When he arrived at the police station and confessed to his crimes, the bag still wouldn't come off his head. It is believed the only way he will be freed is if the old woman forgives him. He is hoping the police would help him track down the old woman so she can undo the spell.
